Egypt Discusses Enhancing Cooperation with Danish Companies in the Medical Device Sector
The fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 witnessed an important meeting between the Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and a high-level delegation of Danish companies. This meeting aims to strengthen joint cooperation and open new horizons for investment in the Egyptian medical devices and supplies market.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, reviewed the significant developments currently taking place in Egypt's pharmaceutical and medical device sector. Al-Ghamrawy emphasized the continuous efforts made by the Authority to develop this vital sector and provide an attractive investment environment for global companies.
For their part, representatives of the Danish companies expressed great interest in the Egyptian market, praising the steps taken by the state to facilitate investment procedures. The two parties discussed the possibility of transferring advanced Danish technological expertise to Egyptian factories, which would contribute to increasing local production efficiency and meeting market needs for modern medical supplies.
This cooperation comes within the framework of Egypt's strategy to strengthen its position as a regional hub for medical industries on the African continent. These international partnerships are an important step toward localizing the advanced medical device industry, which reduces reliance on imports and supports the national economy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue communication and coordination during the coming period to follow up on the implementation of the investment opportunities that were proposed. These efforts are part of the state's comprehensive vision to develop the healthcare system and provide the best medical services to citizens according to the highest international standards.
