Arrest of three women in a series of thefts in Vienna!
The phenomenon of bag thefts in the streets of the Austrian capital Vienna is increasing alarmingly. The police arrested three women on charges of theft in the Wien-Ottakring area, marking this as the second incident in just two days.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, when the gang targeted an 83-year-old elderly woman while she was shopping in a store. The thieves managed to steal her leather wallet from her handbag, which contained a bank card. Later, they used the card to withdraw an amount of 650 euros.
The police had previously monitored the three women after noticing their suspicious behavior that matched that of professional thieves, as they were closely watching customers' bags when entering stores. The suspects are three women of Bulgarian nationality, aged between 24 and 31. They are currently in police custody, and the stolen items have been recovered and returned to their owners. Investigations are still ongoing to uncover the background of the incident and possibly the gang's involvement in other thefts.
