National Bureau of Investigation suspects four men of terrorist financing
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has launched a preliminary investigation into a case in which four men are suspected of terrorist financing. The suspects are believed to have provided financial support to the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.
PKK is classified as a terrorist organization by both the European Union and several other countries. Under Finnish law, financing terrorist activity is a serious crime that can lead to a prison sentence.
The preliminary investigation is currently underway, and the police are working to determine the scope and details of the suspects' activities. The National Bureau of Investigation has not yet provided further information regarding the identities of the suspects or the amounts of money that may have been transferred.
The case has attracted attention, as counter-terrorism and the prevention of its financing are key tasks for authorities in Finland. The police continue to investigate the matter in close cooperation with other authorities.
