Salo to receive a massive two-billion-euro data center
Nordic data center company atNorth has announced plans to build a new, large-scale data center in Salo. The project is a significant investment, with a value reaching approximately two billion euros. The new center will be known as FIN05.
The data center is planned to have a capacity of 230 megawatts. This makes it one of the largest projects in the sector in Finland. The project will be implemented in several different phases, with the goal of meeting the growing need for digital infrastructure in the Nordic countries.
Salo was chosen as the location for the project due to, among other things, its good electrical grid connection and strategic location. Data centers require a large amount of electricity to operate, and Finland's stable energy situation and the availability of green electricity have attracted international companies to the country.
The investment will bring new jobs to Salo and strengthen the region's position as a hub for the technology sector. Once completed, and during its construction, the project will employ numerous professionals from various fields, which serves as a significant boost to the local economy.
In recent years, Finland has established its position as one of Europe's most important locations for data centers. The atNorth project is yet another indication that international players trust the conditions and digital expertise that Finland offers.
