Defense technology is being tested in Arctic conditions in Northern Finland
The Griffin Tech Days 2026 event is currently being held in Northern Finland, focusing on testing the latest defense technology. The event is particularly important for Finnish special forces, as it offers an opportunity to try out new innovations in demanding conditions.
Finland's Arctic climate places heavy demands on equipment. The technology being tested at the event is being tried in temperatures as low as -25 degrees Celsius. This ensures that defense equipment functions reliably even in extreme cold, which is typical of the Finnish winter.
Griffin Tech Days brings together industry experts and developers. The goal is to find solutions that improve performance and safety in northern regions. Collaboration between technology developers and end-users is a key part of the event's success.
According to the Finnish Defence Forces, the importance of such tests has grown even further. When technology is tested in a practical way in field conditions, potential shortcomings can be identified and equipment can be developed to be even better for future needs.
