Kimitoön has received a prestigious sustainable tourism label
Kimitoön has achieved significant recognition in its tourism sector. Visit Finland has awarded the region the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) label, which signifies the destination's commitment to sustainable development and responsible practices.
The Sustainable Travel Finland program is intended for Finnish tourism companies and regions. Receiving the label requires the destination to meet strict criteria related to, among other things, environmental friendliness, social responsibility, and economic sustainability. Kimitoön is now one of those Finnish tourism destinations that have successfully completed this demanding process.
The label is an important indication that Kimitoön is investing in the future of tourism. Responsibility is now an important selection criterion for many travelers, and the STF label helps international and domestic visitors identify a region that considers the preservation of nature and local culture in its operations.
The recognition received by Kimitoön strengthens the region's position as an attractive and responsible travel destination. It also encourages other operators in the area to develop their services in an even more sustainable direction, which supports the development of the entire Finnish tourism industry.
