Serious ship accident in Indonesia – over a hundred people still missing
A serious ship accident has occurred in the Java Sea in Indonesia, where a passenger vessel has run into distress. According to authorities, the vessel lost contact with the coast guard, and rescue operations in the area are underway.
According to the latest information, at least six people have died in the accident. However, the situation remains very critical, as authorities are currently searching for approximately 130 people whose fate is still unclear.
Rescue personnel have managed to save 107 people who were on board the vessel when the accident occurred. However, rescue efforts are being hampered by challenging weather conditions and the vastness of the sea area, which makes searching for the missing extremely demanding.
Indonesian authorities are continuing the search actively. Although the accident occurred far from Finland, it has attracted widespread international attention and grief. Current reports confirm that this is one of the most serious maritime accidents in the region in recent times.
