Finland to begin satellite cooperation with its allies
Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen has announced that Finland will begin developing a new form of satellite cooperation together with its other NATO allies. The goal is to strengthen Finland's defence capabilities and improve situational awareness in space.
The importance of satellites in modern defence has grown significantly. They provide essential data for areas such as communications, navigation, and territorial surveillance. Cooperation with other countries will help Finland gain access to broader technology and more precise information.
According to Minister of Defence Häkkänen, this project is part of Finland's wider security policy as a member of NATO. Collaboration with allies ensures that Finland stays up to date with technological developments and is better able to respond to potential threats.
Finland has previously invested in space sector expertise, and this new cooperation will deepen that development even further. The project strengthens Finland's role as part of Nordic and European defence cooperation.
