Finland's trade balance strengthened in June – exports and imports on the rise
Finland's foreign trade has shown strong growth in the first half of 2026. According to recent statistics, Finland's trade balance had a surplus of 1.9 billion euros in June, which reflects the good momentum of the country's exports.
Between January and June, the value of Finnish exports grew by 14.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year. At the same time, the value of imports also rose by 15.4 percent.
The increased figures reflect intensified trade between Finland and other countries. Although imports have grown slightly faster than exports, the trade surplus shows that Finland continues to sell more goods and services to the world than it buys from abroad.
These figures are important indicators of the state of the Finnish economy. A trade surplus is generally a sign that Finnish companies have succeeded in competing well in international markets.
Economic developments will be monitored closely during the remainder of the year. Experts estimate that the trends in exports and imports will provide direction for how the Finnish economy recovers and grows in the coming months.
