Finland to begin satellite cooperation with its allies
Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen has announced that Finland will begin developing a new form of satellite cooperation together with its other NATO allies. The goal is to strengthen Finland's security and improve the exchange of information between the countries through space technology.
The use of satellites is extremely important in modern defense. They allow for monitoring the situation beyond national borders and ensure that authorities have access to accurate information regarding potential threats. Cooperation with allies will help Finland gain access to broader technical expertise and better resources.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the project is part of a broader development in which Finland is becoming more closely integrated into NATO's defense systems. Space has emerged as an important operational environment in recent years, which is why joint investments and cooperation with other countries are essential.
Finland's role in this cooperation is significant, as the country possesses strong expertise in the fields of technology and digitalization. The new satellite cooperation will strengthen Finland's position in international security policy and improve the situational awareness of the entire Baltic Sea region.
