Prices of old dwellings fell in Finland in August
In Finland, the prices of old dwellings have turned downward. According to the latest data from Statistics Finland, the prices of old housing company dwellings fell by 3.3 percent nationwide in August 2026 compared to the same period the previous year.
The development of the housing market has been challenging recently, and the decline in prices reflects the general economic situation. Rising interest rates and the increasing cost of living have affected how much Finns are willing or able to pay for homes.
The price decline particularly affects older dwellings located in housing companies. Although price changes vary by region, the nationwide statistics show a clear trend of a cooling market.
The situation in the housing market is important to many Finns, as a home is often the largest single investment for households. Experts are now closely monitoring how the market develops during the remainder of the year and how potential changes in interest rate levels will affect the activity of the housing market in the future.
