Finland joins European digital cooperation in agriculture and the food sector
Finland has decided to join a new European Digital Infrastructure Consortium as a founding member. This cooperation focuses specifically on the development of the agricultural and food sectors through digital means.
The goal of the project is to promote the utilization of new technology across Europe. Digital solutions are intended to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and security of food supply in the future.
Finland's participation in the consortium means that Finnish actors will be able to influence the development of European digital standards. This also offers opportunities for Finnish agricultural technology expertise and innovation.
According to the Government, this cooperation is important for Europe to remain competitive in global food production. Digital infrastructure will help farmers and businesses better respond to the challenges posed by climate change and the markets.
Membership is part of a broader European strategy to strengthen digital sovereignty. Finland will continue its active work in joint projects aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector and supporting sustainable development.
