5G connectivity to improve in Finland without new base stations
5G network coverage in Finland is set to improve significantly. Thanks to new technology, the connection between mobile devices and the network will function better in the future, even in areas where radio conditions have previously been challenging.
The improvement is based on so-called Coverage Enhancement features of 5G NR technology. These functions are designed to strengthen the signal in situations where the connection is weak. This means that users can enjoy a more stable internet connection, for example, indoors or in more remote areas.
The greatest advantage of the technology is that improving coverage does not require the construction of new physical base stations. Instead, the improvements are made through software-based communication between the network and end-user devices. This makes the development a cost-effective and rapid way to improve network quality.
For Finnish users, this means an even more reliable 5G experience. Although 5G networks have already been built extensively in Finland, the new technology helps to eliminate the final dead zones and improve connection quality even in difficult conditions.
