The Finnish Border Guard continues its support for Estonia in border security
The Finnish Border Guard has decided to continue its bilateral cooperation with Estonia to improve border security. The support will begin on September 7 and will last until September 27.
The assistance was requested by the Estonian authorities, and Finland has responded positively to the request. The goal of the cooperation is to strengthen security between the countries and ensure border surveillance in a changing situation.
Finnish border guards will work in Estonia as part of this operation. Their task is to support their Estonian colleagues in monitoring the borders and maintaining security. This is a continuation of the previous cooperation that the countries have already engaged in earlier this year.
The close cooperation between Finland and Estonia is important for the stability of the entire Baltic Sea region. According to the Border Guard, such assistance is a natural part of the good neighborly relations and common security policy between the countries.
The operation will end at the end of September, but the authorities are monitoring the situation continuously. Finland is prepared to assess the need for further support if the situation at the Estonian border requires it later.
