The Finnish Institute of International Affairs strengthens its expert network with new appointments
The Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) has announced the appointment of 13 new visiting researchers, or so-called non-resident fellows, for the years 2026–2029. These experts will support the institute's research work and strengthen its ability to analyze complex issues in international politics.
The selected experts are highly respected professionals in their respective fields. Their task is to bring added value to the institute's operations and provide in-depth knowledge on current global phenomena. The appointments cover a wide range of disciplines, which will help the institute better respond to the challenges of a changing world.
The Finnish Institute of International Affairs is a research institute operating under the Finnish Parliament that focuses on international relations and European Union policy. The network of visiting researchers is an important part of the institute's operations, as it enables close cooperation with top international scholars.
The new researchers will begin their terms at the start of 2026. Their contribution is significant, as Finland's foreign and security policy operating environment requires continuous and precise monitoring. The institute believes that these appointments will strengthen Finland's position in international political discussions and research.
