Finland seeks new solutions to challenges in the care sector
Finland's care sector is currently facing major challenges as the population ages and there is a shortage of workers. To improve the situation, a new project has been launched to find ways to facilitate care work and improve its quality.
Thirty-six promising innovations have been selected for research and development. These solutions focus particularly on utilizing technology and creating new operating methods. The goal is for caregivers to be able to spend more time interacting with people and less time on routine tasks.
The selected innovations range from digital tools to new types of service models. For example, artificial intelligence and robotics can be utilized in patient monitoring or to facilitate medication distribution. Solutions that increase a sense of community also play a key role.
According to experts, reforms are essential to ensure that care services remain functional in the future. Next, these 36 ideas will be tested in practice across different parts of Finland to see which ones work best in everyday life.
The results of the project will be monitored closely, and the goal is to implement the best solutions for wider use as soon as possible. The reforms are expected to improve both the quality of life for clients and the well-being of caregivers.
