Findata initiates change negotiations – more than half of the staff could be laid off
Findata, which manages health and social data, has announced that it is initiating change negotiations affecting its entire staff. The reason for the negotiations is the organization's difficult financial situation and lack of funding.
The negotiations cover all of Findata's permanent staff, which currently consists of 26 employees. According to the plans, the negotiations could lead to the termination of up to 15 employees.
Findata is an authority under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, tasked with granting permits for the secondary use of social and health data. The organization's operations have played a key role in Finnish research, which makes extensive use of various registry data.
The purpose of the staff reductions is to adjust the agency's operations to the available funding. The outcome of the negotiations and any potential layoffs will be determined once the negotiation process has been concluded.
