Commander of the Finnish Army visited Ukraine
The Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki, has made an official visit to Ukraine. The trip took place at the end of September, between the 20th and 25th. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between the countries and exchange experiences on issues related to defense.
During his trip, Lieutenant General Välimäki met with several leaders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Meetings with frontline commanders and commanders responsible for drone operations played a particularly important role. These discussions provided the Finnish leadership with valuable information on the features and tactics of modern warfare.
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, has become a central part of modern defense. Ukraine's experiences in utilizing drones on the battlefield offer Finland important lessons that can be applied to the development of national defense. The visit demonstrated that Finland is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine and learning from the lessons of the war.
Defense cooperation between Finland and Ukraine has remained close since the beginning of Russia's war of aggression. High-level visits, such as Välimäki's trip, are part of this ongoing dialogue. The visit strengthened cooperation between the countries and provided the Finnish Army leadership with up-to-date information on the situation on the Ukrainian front.
