AMS begins full digital transformation through the MeinAMS platform

According to the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation in Styria, the Austrian Employment Service (AMS) will start using a new electronic system called **MeinAMS** instead of **eAMS** on Monday, aiming to simplify procedures and enable clients to complete their transactions online without the need for personal attendance.

The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation reported that around 32,000 people in Styria have a previous account in eAMS, but this system has been described as outdated and not keeping up with technological advancements. The Deputy Director General of the Employment Service in Styria (Yvonne Popper-Beber) explained that MeinAMS represents the new digital channel for communication with the office, allowing for the submission of job support applications, unemployment benefit applications, emergency aid, as well as all types of funding requests. It also allows for updating and submitting job applications and tracking appointments registered with the office.

According to the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, the transition process for those with an eAMS account will begin on Monday, where all users will be notified and guided through the necessary steps for the transfer, with a transitional period of three weeks provided. New users can register via the digital identity service ID-Austria.

According to the published information, the system aims to shorten waiting times and reduce the need for travel, especially in areas that require long journeys to reach the nearest branch. The official indicated that the new platform allows users to send their documents, communicate with advisors, and easily obtain payment summaries from home, instead of having to visit AMS offices.

The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation confirmed that in-person services will remain available, and that offices will continue to receive clients and provide personal appointments, despite the expansion of digital services.
