Tour de France: Cyclist Ramses Debruyne forced to abandon
The Tour de France saw a new twist this Tuesday. Belgian cyclist Ramses Debruyne, a member of the Alpecin-Premier Tech team, was forced to leave the competition prematurely.
Before this withdrawal, the young rider was putting in a solid performance. He was sitting in 18th place in the general classification, a promising position for the remainder of the event. However, his state of health did not allow him to continue the race.
According to information provided by his team, Ramses Debruyne is suffering from an illness that prevents him from continuing his efforts on the French roads. Despite his attempts to stay in the race, he had to resign himself to handing in his race number.
This departure is a hard blow for the Alpecin-Premier Tech team, which loses an important member of its roster. The organizers of the Tour de France have confirmed his official withdrawal, thus marking the end of his adventure in this 2024 edition.
