The 2026 Tour de France continues to captivate cycling enthusiasts. During the ninth stage, Dutch rider Mathieu van der Poel, a member of the Alpecin-Premier Tech team, secured an impressive victory after an intense race full of twists and turns.

This stage was marked by a strategic battle between the favorites of the peloton. Mathieu van der Poel demonstrated great technical mastery and remarkable physical power to distance his competitors in the final kilometers, crossing the finish line solo.

Despite this exceptional performance by the Dutchman, the general classification remains under control. Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, leader of the UAE Emirates-XRG team, retains his yellow jersey. He continues to dominate the competition thanks to careful and effective tactical management since the start of the event.

The race now continues with new mountain stages that promise to be decisive for the remainder of the Tour. French spectators, out in great numbers along the roads, are eagerly waiting to see if the other favorites will manage to challenge Pogacar's supremacy in the coming days.
