Pope Leo XIV visits the Bakhita House to support migrants
Pope Leo XIV arrived in France this week for a symbolic visit. He went to the Bakhita House, a reception center located in the Paris region, to meet with migrants and the volunteers who support them on a daily basis.
This visit is seen as a strong message, as the issue of welcoming foreigners is at the heart of political debates in France. A few months before the presidential election, the presence of the Sovereign Pontiff draws attention to the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations.
The Bakhita House, named in honor of Saint Josephine Bakhita, is a facility recognized for its integration work. During his visit, the Pope insisted on the importance of solidarity and fraternity, encouraging citizens to show openness toward those who have left everything behind to find refuge.
This official trip highlights the Vatican's constant commitment to migration issues. By choosing to shine a light on this reception center, Pope Leo XIV hopes to raise awareness among the French public and encourage a calm dialogue on this complex subject.
