Heatwave: Red alert maintained in Paris for July 14th
France is currently experiencing an intense heat episode that is particularly affecting the capital and its surrounding region. Météo-France has decided to maintain the red alert for Paris and the Île-de-France region throughout July 13th and 14th.
Temperatures remain extremely high, even after sunset. Last night did not provide sufficient cooling, which exacerbates the fatigue accumulated by the body. This "tropical night" phenomenon prevents buildings and the ground from losing the heat stored during the day.
For this Tuesday, July 14th, weather forecasts predict temperatures could reach 37°C, or even 38°C in some places. This persistent heat poses a real health risk, particularly for the elderly, children, and workers exposed outdoors.
Authorities strongly recommend that the public remain cautious. It is advised to drink water regularly, keep homes cool by closing shutters during the day, and avoid any intense physical activity during the hottest hours.
The red alert requires increased vigilance from emergency services and hospitals. Residents are invited to regularly follow information bulletins to stay updated on the evolution of the weather situation in the coming hours.
