Heatwave in Normandy: shelters mobilize to protect animals
Normandy is facing a spell of high temperatures that is unusual for the region. In the face of this heatwave, animal shelters have quickly implemented emergency measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents.
Teams on the ground are working tirelessly to adapt the animals' living conditions. Among the priority actions, volunteers are increasing the number of fresh water points, setting up additional shaded areas, and adjusting exercise schedules to avoid the hottest hours of the day.
In parallel with this local situation, international news remains focused on public health. The head of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) recently provided an update on the Ebola epidemic. He described the situation as "serious," while specifying that it is "not out of control."
These two topics highlight the importance of vigilance, whether it concerns the protection of animals in the face of climate change in France or the management of global health crises. Authorities continue to monitor the weather in Normandy in order to support reception facilities should temperatures remain high.
