Wildfires in France: the situation is now under control
The situation regarding the wildfires that have struck France in recent days is improving significantly. The Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, has officially declared that the fires are now "under control" across the entire national territory.
Since last Wednesday, a series of violent fires has ravaged approximately 42,000 hectares of vegetation. According to information provided by the prefecture, this is one of the most significant disasters recorded in the country in several decades.
Firefighters and rescue teams worked tirelessly for several days to stop the progression of the flames. Thanks to their exceptional mobilization and more favorable weather, they have succeeded in stabilizing the most affected areas and protecting nearby homes.
Despite this improvement, the authorities remain very vigilant. Surveillance teams continue to patrol the burnt grounds to avoid any risk of the fire reigniting, particularly due to weather conditions that can still be unpredictable.
The government wished to thank the rescue forces for their courage and effectiveness in the face of this natural disaster. A full assessment of the environmental and material damage will be carried out in the coming days to support the affected areas.
