The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross becomes more accessible with French production
Automaker Mitsubishi recently announced a significant price drop for its electric SUV, the Eclipse Cross. The model is now offered starting at 29,990 euros, a commercial strategy aimed at making electric vehicles more affordable for French drivers.
This price reduction is made possible thanks to a new industrial organization. The vehicle is now manufactured directly in France, which helps reduce logistics costs and allows for the benefit of local subsidies linked to national production. This strategic choice underscores the growing importance of industrial relocation in the European automotive sector.
In addition to this change in production location, the SUV benefits from a notable technical improvement. It is now equipped with a new battery with a capacity of 67 kWh. This update increases the vehicle's range, thereby meeting the needs of users who wish to travel longer distances without having to recharge frequently.
With this price point set below the symbolic 30,000-euro mark, Mitsubishi hopes to attract a broader customer base in France. This initiative is part of a highly competitive electric vehicle market, where manufacturers are seeking to offer more economical alternatives in the face of rising new car prices.
