Euro 2024: France team eliminated by Spain in the semi-finals
The adventure of Les Bleus at Euro 2024 came to an end this Tuesday evening. During the semi-final played against Spain, the French team was defeated by a score of 2 goals to 0. This loss marks the end of the French journey in the competition, at the doorstep of the final.
On the pitch, the Spanish players dominated the match. The French, despite their efforts, did not manage to counter the opponent's strategy. Manager Didier Deschamps acknowledged after the match that his team had been outclassed by a Spanish side that was more efficient and technically precise.
This elimination is a disappointment for French supporters who were hoping to see their team lift the trophy. After a sometimes difficult journey during the tournament, Les Bleus failed to find the necessary solutions to turn the tide against a very solid Spanish team.
The assessment of this competition is therefore mixed for France. While Les Bleus showed great defensive solidity during previous matches, they lacked offensive creativity during this decisive moment. Spain, meanwhile, qualifies for the final and continues to be seen as the favorite for the European title.
