Football: Les Bleus launch their preparations for the 2026 World Cup
The French national football team has officially begun its preparations for the next World Cup. The players gathered this week at the National Football Centre in Clairefontaine for the start of a new sporting cycle. This meeting marks an important milestone for Didier Deschamps' men following recent international competitions.
The Clairefontaine centre, located near Paris, is the historic venue where Les Bleus train before every major tournament. During this training camp, the players will follow an intensive program to return to their peak physical and technical level. The technical staff is closely monitoring the fitness of each athlete to build a solid and competitive team.
The ultimate goal of this work is the 2026 World Cup, which will be held for the first time in three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It is an immense challenge for the French players, as the competition format will evolve with a larger number of participating teams and significant travel between host cities.
For this new training camp, the squad blends experienced senior players with promising young talents discovering the highest level. The atmosphere within the team is described as studious and positive. Each training session is a precious opportunity to strengthen group cohesion and integrate new players into the system of play.
