Threat of shooting at an Islamic school in Vienna! Parents are worried.
Authorities in Vienna responded quickly after a threat of a shooting was discovered at an Islamic secondary school in the Fünfhaus area. On Monday morning, students found written threats in the boys' and girls' bathrooms on Rauchfangkehrergasse, prompting immediate police intervention.
The written messages reported: "There will be a shooting at the school today," which raised concerns among students, staff, and parents. The school confirmed that both state security and the internal intelligence agency were notified after the incident, and the police arrived at the scene shortly after the threats were reported.
The parents expressed their deep concern about the incident. Melissa*, the mother of one of the students at the school, told the newspaper Heute that they had not received clear information about the investigation results or the planned security measures. Families are seeking reassurance as the investigation continues.
The Vienna State Police Directorate confirmed that a security operation was launched in response to written threats. Officers are working closely with the State Office for State Security and Prevention of Extremism (LSE) to assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation into the threats is still ongoing and is classified as a potential serious threat. School officials and law enforcement are cooperating to prevent any danger, and the community is being continuously informed as the investigation progresses.
