Two teenagers are alleged to have raped a 14-year-old girl.
Police in Nürnberg have arrested two teenagers suspected of raping a 14-year-old girl in a park near the Plärrer.
According to police, the girl came forward on Monday afternoon, 31.08.2026, saying she had just been attacked by two young men and needed help. Investigators say the girl was initially offered an e-cigarette (vape) in exchange for sexual acts. The situation then allegedly escalated and the suspects raped her on the park grounds. The girl was injured and required medical treatment.
A patrol from the Bundespolizei (Federal Police) arrested a 16-year-old suspect, a Syrian national, still at the Plärrer on the same day. The second suspect, an 18-year-old Syrian, was tracked down the next day in a flat in the Langwasser district by officers from the EKO Kajal (Investigation Commission Kajal) and the USK (Support Command Middle Franconia). An investigative judge issued arrest warrants for both on suspicion of rape.
The case is part of a wider probe by "EKO Kajal". The special unit has been investigating for months in the area around Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) over allegations of drug dealing and sexual assaults targeting girls and young women. Police say 18 arrest warrants have now been executed in connection with the operation.
Officers also arrested a 29-year-old stateless man from Palestine on suspicion of repeatedly supplying drugs to minors. He had previously fled a traffic check in August by jumping from a city wall into a moat and suffering several fractures. He is also in pre-trial detention.
Police said the aim of EKO Kajal is not only to identify suspects but also to get affected girls and young people out of the environment around the station. The investigation into the wider network is ongoing.
