Exciting qualifying at the WEC in Austin: Ferrari and Cadillac at the front
At the FIA WEC endurance race in Austin, there was an exceptionally close result in qualifying. The Ferrari and Cadillac teams delivered an impressive performance, reaching the so-called Hyperpole with identical times. This means that both manufacturers set the fastest lap times simultaneously, placing them at the front of the field.
The qualifying session was very successful for many participants. In total, six different car manufacturers managed to qualify at least one of their vehicles for the decisive Hyperpole round. This demonstrates how balanced the performance level is in the current WEC season and how fierce the competition remains between the major brands.
However, the day did not go according to plan for all teams. While most manufacturers were able to prove their strength, there were also disappointments. Alongside the Peugeot team, other manufacturers were eliminated in the first phase of qualifying and were unable to secure a spot in the final round for the best cars.
Fans can now look forward to an exciting race. Since the gaps between the top teams are so small, pit strategy and driver consistency will play a decisive role. The race in Austin is considered an important milestone for the overall world championship standings.
