New ownership structure at TenneT Germany officially completed
Grid operator TenneT has completed a major change in the ownership structure of its German business. As the company announced, the planned equity transactions have now been successfully finalized. This step marks a significant milestone for the future of German power grid operators.
Various international investors are involved in the new structure. The new partners include APG, GIC, and the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund NBIM. These investors are now acquiring stakes in the company's German subsidiary to strengthen the financial foundation for the expansion of power grids.
The state-owned development bank KfW also plays a central role in this process. Furthermore, TenneT GmbH & Co. KG retains a 25.1 percent stake in TenneT Germany. Through this participation, a close connection between the parent company and the German grid operations remains in place.
The reorganization is an important step for the German energy transition. Since the expansion of power lines is crucial for the transport of renewable energy in Germany, the new ownership structure is intended to provide greater stability and investment security. The participating partners are thereby supporting the long-term modernization of the infrastructure.
