More and more people in Germany are feeling stressed
A current study by the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) from 2025 shows a worrying trend: the stress level among the German population is rising significantly. According to the data collected, 66 percent of people now report that they frequently feel stressed in their everyday lives.
Compared to previous surveys, this is an increase of 16 percentage points. The results clarify that psychological strain has become a permanent part of life for a large segment of society. Experts see this as a growing risk to the long-term health of citizens.
In response to this development, there is an increasing number of digital tools for mental health checks in Germany. These applications are intended to help people recognize their stress symptoms early and cope better with stressful situations. Digitalization plays a central role here in facilitating access to preventive measures.
The increase in stress has diverse causes, often rooted in the professional or private sphere. Since mental health is an important asset, experts are calling for more attention to this topic. The TK study now serves as a basis for discussing new strategies for stress management and the promotion of well-being in Germany.
