Extreme sports in Germany: Adrian Pulver wins the "Race Across Germany"
Swiss extreme athlete Adrian Pulver has won this year's "Race Across Germany." In this demanding cycling race, participants must cover a total distance of 1,100 kilometers across Germany.
The race route took the athletes from Flensburg on the Baltic Sea to Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the foot of the Alps in Bavaria. In doing so, the cyclists not only had to overcome the long distance but also a total of 7,500 meters in altitude, which represents an enormous physical strain.
The "Race Across Germany" is considered one of the toughest challenges for cyclists in Europe. Participants are often on the road for several days with almost no sleep in order to complete the course in the fastest possible time. Pulver was able to prevail against strong competition and was the first to reach the finish line in Upper Bavaria.
In addition to Pulver's success, there was also reason to celebrate in the world of triathlon in Germany. At the well-known competition in Roth, Siffert was also able to secure a victory. These successes underscore Germany's importance as a venue for major international endurance events.
