WHO Report: 21,000 children in Germany without vaccination protection
A current report by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the year 2025 shows a worrying trend in healthcare. In Germany, there are currently about 21,000 children who have no vaccination protection at all. These figures make it clear that a portion of the population is not sufficiently protected against preventable diseases.
The situation is not limited to Germany, however. According to the report, a total of 566,000 children in the entire WHO European Region are without any vaccination protection. Experts warn that a low vaccination rate increases the risk of outbreaks of diseases that were actually considered eradicated or under control.
Vaccinations are considered one of the most important measures in medicine to protect public health. If too many people are not vaccinated, infectious diseases such as measles or polio can spread more quickly through society. A high vaccination rate in the population is crucial, especially for children who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.
Health authorities are now monitoring this development very closely. There is discussion about how parents can be better informed about the benefits of vaccinations and how access to vaccination services can be further improved. The goal is to significantly reduce the number of unvaccinated children in the coming years in order to ensure safety for all citizens.
