More and more people in Germany are feeling stressed

A current study by the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) from 2025 shows a worrying trend: mental strain among the German population is increasing significantly. According to the collected data, 66 percent of respondents now state that they feel stressed on a regular basis.

Compared to previous surveys, this is an increase of 16 percentage points. Experts view these figures as a clear signal that the pressure in everyday life and in the workplace has grown noticeably for many people in Germany. The reasons for this development are diverse and range from professional demands to private burdens.

In response to this trend, digital offerings for mental health are becoming increasingly important. Many affected individuals now use apps or online platforms to measure their stress levels and learn initial relaxation strategies. These digital "mental health checks" provide low-threshold access to support when everyday life becomes too overwhelming.

Nevertheless, experts warn that digital solutions alone are not enough. They emphasize that in cases of persistent mental health problems, visiting a doctor or a therapist remains necessary. The TK study underscores that the topic of mental health must become more present in society in order to secure people's quality of life in the long term.
