Artificial Intelligence is transforming architecture and design
The world of architecture and design is facing a digital transformation. More and more experts are currently investigating how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used in these creative fields. The goal is to find new ways of working that make the design process more efficient and innovative.
The German Design Council is intensively engaged with this topic. The organization is exploring the possibilities that AI offers for planning complex buildings or new products. This involves not only technical implementation but also the question of how human creativity and machine intelligence can work together.
In practice, AI could help architects select more sustainable materials or calculate the energy efficiency of buildings as early as the initial design phase. In product design, the technology also makes it possible to quickly test different variations of a design without having to immediately create physical prototypes.
Although the technology is still in its infancy, expectations in the German design industry are high. It remains to be seen how these digital tools will affect the everyday lives of architects and designers in Germany in the coming years.
