*Vienna: Two 16-year-old girls allegedly raped in apartment during days-long party, Afghan man arrested*
Two 16-year-old girls from a care facility were allegedly sexually assaulted for several days in the apartment of a 26-year-old Afghan man in Vienna’s Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district, police say.
According to http://heute.at, the teenagers had been reported missing from their care facility. They were among several people at what investigators describe as a days-long drug and alcohol party in the 15th district apartment.
One of the girls eventually called emergency services and reported that she and her friend had been raped in the apartment. Officers from the WEGA special police unit located the flat and arrested the 26-year-old suspect in the stairwell.
The man exercised his right to remain silent. He was remanded in custody by order of the public prosecutor’s office. Investigators are now working to determine exactly what happened during the party and what role other attendees may have played. The presumption of innocence applies.
The case is under investigation.
