Arche spokesperson raises alarm over failed integration

The Berlin-based children’s charity Die Arche is warning of increasing violence and radicalization among young people. Its spokesman, Wolfgang Büscher, says the integration of young migrants in Germany is facing a serious crisis.

Büscher, who has worked with children and young people for around 25 years, told Bild that Germany was heading toward a situation that could soon become extremely difficult to manage. He argued that migration can work, but only when accompanied by clear rules, language skills and effective integration.

According to Büscher, these conditions are increasingly missing in parts of Germany. He said the country was gradually losing control over developments among some young people and warned that the problems were becoming more visible in everyday youth work.

Die Arche works with children and teenagers from disadvantaged backgrounds, including many with migrant backgrounds. The organization has previously warned about radicalization among young people and the influence of extremist ideas. Büscher's latest comments reflect concerns that social workers are encountering increasingly difficult situations.

He also pointed to violence as a growing problem. According to the charity spokesman, some young people are displaying aggressive behavior and rejecting the values and rules of German society. He believes stronger intervention is needed before these problems become entrenched.

Büscher stressed that successful integration requires more than simply providing accommodation or financial support. Young migrants need to learn German, understand the country's rules and participate actively in society. Schools, families and youth services all have an important role to play.

His warning comes amid a broader German debate over migration, integration and youth crime. Politicians and social organizations have increasingly focused on whether existing systems are capable of dealing with the challenges created by large and diverse youth populations.

For Die Arche, the priority is preventing children and teenagers from drifting toward violence or radicalization. Büscher's comments are therefore a call for earlier intervention, clearer expectations and stronger integration efforts before the situation becomes even harder to control.
