TenneT Germany invests heavily in the expansion of the power grid
The grid operator TenneT Germany has drawn a positive balance for the first half of 2026. The company is continuing its growth trajectory and is increasingly investing in German energy infrastructure. This development is an important step for the energy transition in Germany.
As the company announced, investments in the first six months of the year rose to a total of 4.1 billion euros. This corresponds to an increase of 14 percent compared to the same period last year. The funds are primarily flowing into the expansion and modernization of power grids to meet the rising demand for renewable energy.
The company is also showing economic stability. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) grew to 1.1 billion euros. These figures underscore TenneT's important role in securing the power supply in Germany.
The expansion of the grids is considered one of the greatest challenges for German energy policy. TenneT plans to continue this course in the second half of the year in order to further increase capacities for the transport of wind and solar power.
