New standard for bicycles: SKS Germany introduces the “Clik Valve”
The company SKS Germany, a well-known manufacturer of bicycle accessories from the Sauerland region, is focusing on a technical innovation for its new products. Effective immediately, the company is integrating the so-called “Clik Valve” from tire manufacturer Schwalbe into its air pumps. The goal of this collaboration is to make inflating bicycle tires significantly easier and faster for users.
The new valve system differs fundamentally from previously known standards such as the Presta or Schrader valve. Instead of laboriously screwing or clamping the pump head onto the valve, the head is simply pushed onto the Clik Valve. An audible click signals to the user that the connection is secure and airtight. This is intended to help beginners in particular, who often have difficulty handling conventional valves.
For cyclists in Germany, this innovation offers a practical advantage in everyday life. Since the system is compatible with most common bicycle tires, users no longer have to switch between different pump attachments. SKS Germany is now equipping a large number of its floor pumps as well as mobile mini pumps with this new connection to increase comfort when maintaining bikes.
The introduction of the Clik Valve marks another step in the modernization of bicycle technology. While the classic valve remained unchanged for decades, this trend shows that manufacturers are increasingly investing in user-friendly solutions. Customers can already purchase the new pumps from specialist retailers and bring their bicycles up to the latest technical standard.
