Daniela Chiani to become the new head of Switzerland Tourism in Germany
There is an important personnel change at the tourism organization of our neighboring country. Starting November 1, 2026, Daniela Chiani will be the new head of Switzerland Tourism for the German market. She will thus take on a central role in the tourism cooperation between Switzerland and Germany.
Daniela Chiani succeeds Claudio Zemp, who successfully led the organization for many years. Chiani brings extensive experience in the tourism industry and, in her new role, will be responsible for all Switzerland Tourism branches in Germany. Her goal is to continue positioning Switzerland as an attractive travel destination for German vacationers.
Germany is traditionally one of the most important markets in the tourism sector for Switzerland. Every year, millions of German tourists travel to the neighboring country to go skiing, hike in the Alps, or visit Swiss cities. Due to this close economic connection, leading the German office is a particularly responsible position within the organization.
Although the official changeover will not take place for another two years, the organization is already preparing for the transition. By making the announcement early, Switzerland Tourism aims to signal stability.
