AI in Marketing: Why German Companies Are Still Waiting for Success

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently one of the most important topics in the German economy. Particularly in the field of marketing, many companies are investing large sums in new technologies to remain competitive. However, a recent study now shows a surprising picture: despite the high expenditures, significant success is often still lacking.

In this context, experts speak of a so-called "investment paradox." This means that although companies are investing massively in AI tools and software, the desired value creation has not yet been achieved. Many projects do not progress beyond an initial testing phase, the so-called "pilot stage." The goal of working more efficiently or generating significantly more profit through AI is rarely realized in practice.

One reason for this situation is often the lack of strategy in marketing departments. Many decision-makers use the new technology without planning exactly how it can improve daily work in the long term. Additionally, there are often technical hurdles in integrating the new systems into the companies' existing structures. Expectations for artificial intelligence are extremely high, but the reality is more complicated than expected.

For the future, the question arises as to how German companies can end this persistent state. Apparently, it is not enough to just spend money on technology. Experts advise also training employees better and defining clear goals for the use of AI. Only if the technology is meaningfully integrated into daily work can the high investments ultimately result in a real economic advantage.
