From the fire station to the Ironman: Dennis Schröer qualifies for the World Championship
Triathlete Dennis Schröer from Schönefeld has achieved a significant sporting goal. The firefighter, who has been actively practicing his sport since 2017, secured a spot for the upcoming World Championship at a competition in Tallinn.
At the Ironman in Tallinn on August 23, 2025, Schröer delivered a strong performance. With a fifth-place finish in his age group, he successfully qualified for the global event. For the athlete from Brandenburg, this is already the second World Championship participation of his career.
The combination of his demanding profession as a firefighter and the intense training for the triathlon requires a great deal of discipline. Schröer trains regularly to be able to compete in the long distances—consisting of swimming, cycling, and running.
The qualification in Estonia is an important milestone for the athlete. With his renewed participation in a World Championship, he underscores his athletic development over the last few years. The sports community in the Schönefeld region is now looking forward with anticipation to his next big appearance on the international stage.
