New development program to strengthen the Greek defense industry
The Greek government announced on Friday the launch of a new program under the Development Law, which focuses specifically on the defense industry sector. This initiative is part of a broader strategy designed by the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, with the aim of modernizing and strengthening domestic production capabilities.
The program aims to attract investments that will help Greek defense companies grow and become more competitive. Through the new incentives, the government seeks to support innovation and the technological upgrading of the sector, while simultaneously strengthening national security.
The Ministry of Development's strategy places particular emphasis on the creation of new jobs and on cooperation between the public and private sectors. In this way, Greece aims to reduce its dependence on foreign sources and develop its own solutions in critical areas of defense.
The details of the program are expected to facilitate companies' access to financial tools. The relevant authorities estimate that this move will be a significant step for the country's economic development and the strengthening of its position in the European defense market.
