Jay Clayton is the new Director of National Intelligence in the US
Jay Clayton was sworn in on Monday, August 3, as the new Director of National Intelligence (DNI) of the United States. His assumption of office comes after a particularly intense and debated hearing process in the US Congress.
The role of the Director of National Intelligence is critical to US security, as the holder of the position is responsible for coordinating the country's intelligence agencies. Clayton is now called upon to manage complex national security issues in an environment of international challenges.
The choice of person for this position is being closely watched by the international community, as the decisions of the American leadership affect geopolitical balances worldwide. The cooperation of the US with its allies, including Greece, depends to a large extent on the strategy charted by the intelligence services.
