EODY warning regarding the West Nile virus in Greece
The National Public Health Organization (EODY) recently issued an important warning regarding the spread of the West Nile virus in our country. Experts emphasize that the situation requires attention, as the coming weeks are considered particularly critical for public health.
According to data from the authorities, intense circulation of the virus has been recorded, with the Attica region at the center. Health services are closely monitoring the development of cases and point out that the most difficult part of the outbreak period may not have passed yet.
The West Nile virus is transmitted mainly through the bite of infected mosquitoes. For this reason, experts recommend that citizens take preventive measures, such as using insect repellent, installing screens on windows, and avoiding stagnant water in gardens or on balconies.
Despite the concern, the authorities emphasize that following protective measures can significantly reduce the risk of transmission. EODY continues its awareness campaigns and remains on alert to address the situation, calling on citizens to follow the instructions of doctors.
