“Medical Landing”: Medical students offer voluntary assistance in Greek hospitals
An important initiative titled “Medical Landing” is currently underway, offering valuable assistance to our country's healthcare system. This program provides an opportunity for medical students from all over Greece to offer volunteer work during their studies.
Students actively participate in the operation of hospitals, Health Centers, and regional clinics, mainly in remote areas and islands. Through this action, future doctors gain practical experience alongside experienced professionals, while simultaneously supporting local communities in need of medical support.
The program aims to strengthen public health structures, especially during periods of increased workload. Participating students come into contact with real-life cases, learn to manage emergency situations, and develop their communication skills with patients.
“Medical Landing” is an example of social contribution and solidarity. Local authorities and hospital administrations welcome this initiative, as the presence of students contributes to better service for citizens and the upgrading of the provided health services.
