ESA BIC Greece: 5 years of success for Greek space startups
Greece is dynamically strengthening its position in the new space economy, as the ESA BIC Greece program celebrates five years of operation this year. This program serves as the Greek hub of the European Space Agency and aims to support innovative companies that use space technologies in everyday life.
Over these five years, ESA BIC Greece has supported a total of 32 startups. These companies are developing solutions across many sectors, such as precision agriculture, environmental protection, maritime, and natural disaster management, by leveraging satellite data.
The success of the program proves that the innovation ecosystem in Greece possesses exceptional talent. Young entrepreneurs receive not only financial support but also technical guidance from experts, which helps them transform their ideas into viable products with an international outlook.
The growth of these businesses contributes significantly to the Greek economy, creating new, highly skilled jobs. At the same time, our country is taking on a more active role in the European space industry, attracting interest from foreign investors.
Looking to the future, ESA BIC Greece continues to seek new ideas that can offer solutions to modern challenges. The progress of these 32 companies serves as a promising example of how technology and research can lead Greece into a new era of development.
