Putin informed of Zelenskyy's open letter
The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed of the open letter sent by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This move comes at a time of great tension in relations between the two countries.
The President of Ukraine published his letter on Thursday. In this text, Zelenskyy addresses his Russian counterpart directly, expressing his country's positions. The decision to make the letter public shows Ukraine's desire to also inform the international community.
A Kremlin spokesperson confirmed that the content of the letter was conveyed to Putin. However, so far, the Russian side has not given any official response. It is not yet clear whether the Russian president will comment on the proposals included in the text.
Diplomatic contacts between the two leaders have been extremely rare in recent years. The use of an open letter is considered a form of public diplomacy, which aims to exert pressure for the start of dialogue.
The international community is following the developments in the region with interest. Many analysts are waiting to see if this initiative by Zelenskyy will bring any change in Moscow's stance or if the tension will continue without meaningful dialogue.
